Kendall/MIT Open Space
GalleryOffshoots’ horticultural field crew has been maintaining the garden spaces at Kendall/MIT Open Space for several years. These gardens have been maintained following the initial landscape plan as designed by Hargreaves Jones – but the gardens have progressed and changed slightly in the years following the site’s initial installation. Certain plants have thrived more than others, and rabbit pressure on site has limited the variety of plants that are expressed in the garden spaces. Offshoots was brought on to design planting improvements to the garden spaces, with the intention of maintaining and enhancing the original garden vision as designed by Hargreaves Jones. The planting improvements focused on providing rabbit-tolerant plants that bloom throughout late spring and summer. Offshoots’ installation team installed the new plantings in 2025.
