Aakash Basi, a UK Scientist to Watch!

This scientist, Aakash Basi, is looking at how small urban woodlots in the UK can be enhanced with phytoremediation species to uptake metals from polluted urban environments.  Specifically, he is considering how Salix (willows) and understory perennial hyperaccumulators  could be added to the ground plane to uptake and hold contaminants.  He was just awarded a grant to study the topic.  We’ll keep an eye out for his publication when research is complete.  Go urban woodlot!
