Landscape Architectural Designer: 2+ Years Experience – Full Time

Offshoots, Inc. seeks a landscape designer/ architect to join our Boston office team.  We are looking for a self-starting and flexible individual to help grow our office.  Responsibilities will include all aspects of an entry-level landscape design position including:

  • Illustrating productive landscape systems, including diagraming phytoremediation and ecological planting strategies, 2D and 3D renderings
  • Construction detailing and drafting of projects ranging from residences to multifamily housing, public parks and streetscapes
  • Graphic layout of reports and image books in Adobe InDesign
  • Opportunities for design collaboration and research

Candidates must have excellent graphic design skills, including ability to create photorealistic perspectives, 3D visualizations, diagrams and rendered plans.  Familiarity with Adobe Suite and AutoCAD is essential.   Ideal candidates will be self- starters, with strong design sensibility, and creative energy.   Prior professional work experience is required including some experience with construction document preparation.  Interest in phytoremediation and productive ecological landscape systems is essential.

Office & Marketing Administrator- Part Time

Offshoots, Inc.  is seeking a versatile office and marketing administrator for this multi-faceted position. Daily tasks may include administrative duties (scheduling, archiving, travel arrangements, etc.), office reception (responding to new client inquiries, answering phones, supply ordering, etc.), marketing (including proposal creation for both the design and installation projects, graphic design, website and social media postings), financial (we have a bookkeeper and accountant, but need some additional assistance with invoicing and collections) and personal assistant responsibilities (to assist the owner with scheduling, organization and personal tasks). Successful candidates must be able to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and be a team player, able to operate while proactively reaching out within the firm to find solutions, anticipate needs of principal, and have excellent attention to detail; maintain a level of confidentiality and professional manner; support office of six to ten staff by assisting with various tasks.

This position requires knowledge/experience with Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office. Experience with WordPress, Quickbooks, and graphic design skills are highly desirable.  We anticipate that this will be a part time position, varying from 20-30 hours each week.  We are open to discussing exact hours and schedule with the right candidate.


Garden Center Plant Buyer, Inventory and Marketing Manager- Full or Part Time

Pleasant View Nursery and Offshoots, Inc.  are seeking a shared staff member to source and purchase horticultural plant materials for both companies including a garden center & landscape installation teams.  The ideal candidate will work primarily out of the Pleasant View Nursery location in Paxton, MA, and will occasionally work out of the Offshoots Boston Office.  In addition to plant buying, the position will include researching and setting up a new inventory and point-of-sales purchase system for Pleasant View Nursery that can be accessed both at the nursery and remotely by Offshoots.   The position will include digital marketing responsibilities for Pleasant View including website updating, social media posting and development of a social media strategy to increase retail sales.  Daily tasks may include horticultural purchasing (contacting growers, scheduling deliveries and coordinating deliveries with Offshoots team), inventory management (tracking of materials in stock, tagging plant materials as they come in, sending photographs of materials to Offshoots and customers), setup and maintenance of inventory and point-of-sale system (there is no current point-of-sale system at Pleasant View and one needs to be selected, set up, and maintained), digital marketing for the garden center (including website and social media strategy and postings), and related customer service responsibilities (including responding to client inquiries by phone and email.)  Some assistance with retail sales at the garden center may also be required. Successful candidates must be able to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, be a team player, able to operate while proactively reaching out within both companies to find solutions, have excellent attention to detail, and maintain a level of confidentiality and professionalism while helping both family-businesses succeed.

This position requires plant knowledge and experience in the horticulture and garden center industry. Prior experience with point-of-sale and inventory systems, Quickbooks, and photo-editing skills are highly desirable.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word and social medial platforms is essential.
